Veneer Pressing Method

1. Veneer Selection

GVP select only the best Veneer suppliers from around the globe, so if its New Zealand or exotic species you require. We can provide a wide range from our stock or specially import and press onto a substrate.

2. Substrate Glue Application

We can veneer on to most substrates including plywood's and MDF.

3. Substrate Glue Application

Glue spreader machine rollers covered in glue. We can press with PVA and UREA glues.

4. Veneer Lay on

The veneer lay on is carefully laid on the substrate, with glue already applied by the glue spreader.
The back of the sheet needs balancing veneer to stop the sheet warping, this can be paper or a veneer of lesser quality. You may also choose to have best quality face veneers on both sides.

5. Pressing

The sheet is now loaded into our hot press that is suitable for pressing sheets up to three meters in length.

6. Trimming

Once pressed the sheet is hand trimmed and inspected before sanding.

7. Sanding

You have the option of receiving your veneered sheets either finished with a light machine sand or you may choose to sand your self and maintain maximum veneer thickness.
